Originally from St Louis, Missouri Leslie Nichols earned her BFA with highest honors from Fontbonne University. Currently she maintains her studio in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
Leslie Nichols’ work has earned several competitve awards including an artist grant from the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation as well as the Primary Purchase Award for Liquitex Artist Materials’ Excellence in Art Program. Nichols has displayed in several solo and two-person exhibitions in the United States and abroad. She has exhibited nationally in numerous group shows.
Most recently, Nichols’ works were accepted into the 2010 Delta National Small Print Exhibition at Arkansas State University. Subsequently, the juror David Keel, Curator of Prints at the Whitney Museum of Modern Art, awarded her print the President’s Purchase Award. Her paintings and drawings are included in public and private collections across the United States as well as in Norway, Spain and England.
